Model 92 Scissor Lounge Chair by Pierre Jeanneret for Knoll Inc. / Knoll International, 1950s
This beautiful “Scissor Chair” was designed by Pierre Jeanneret and was manufactured by Knoll International in the 1950s. The cushions are reupholstered in an off-white Kvadrat fabric. It is constructed with a birch frame & canvas slats with chrome plated steel accents.
The chair was designed by Pierre Jeanneret. The swiss architect was cousins with Le Corbusier and is known for collaborating and designing some of Corbusier’s most influential works. These chairs are responsible for informing the design of George Nakashima’s lounge chairs and also share similar lineage with the designs at Chandigarh in India. These particular examples are completely and entirely original, aside from the newly re-upholstered cushions and webbing.
This classic chair would be a great conversation piece in any interior!
