Raphaël Raffel was born in Paris in 1912. In the 1940s, he became known for designing interiors, not just furniture. By the 1950s, he was collaborating with other French designers. In 1952, his work was displayed alongside designs by Georges Jouve. That same year, he helped decorate part of a big ship called Le Bretagne. Raphaël was famous for using fancy materials like lacquer and bronze, his work looked like it was from a fancy time in history called the Louis XVI period. Honoré Paris was a high end furniture brand specializing in custom furniture and home decor. The croissant sofa designed by Raffel, is one of their most famous productions.
