T96 Boomerang executive desk, designed by Italian architect and designer Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno in 1956.

The desk is defined by its generously proportioned boomerang-shaped top, finished in a warm wood tone with a beautifully visible natural grain. Its curved and angular form creates an enveloping workspace while giving the desk a distinctive sculptural presence.

The black metal structure supports the top and two suspended storage units. Both cabinets can be rotated, allowing the arrangement to be adapted to the interior and the preferred working position, and allowing the desk to be freestanding. The larger cabinet combines drawers with an open compartment for documents or books, while the smaller cabinet provides additional practical drawer storage. The elevated construction keeps the composition visually open despite the desk’s substantial proportions.

Borsani originally developed the T96 for the offices of the ENI building in San Donato Milanese. Its unusual angular shape was conceived to work within the building’s pentagonal rooms. The design introduced a more flexible and functional approach to the traditional executive desk, replacing a heavy, formal appearance with a dynamic and adaptable composition.
